Last updated: 27 August 2026
Peter Drayton Wines Pty Ltd (ABN 72 133 448 825) and IronBark Hill Brewing Co Pty Ltd (ABN 94 651 152 260), trading as Peter Drayton Wines, IronBark Hill Brewing Co and Wildstreak Distillery ("we", "us", "our"), are committed to protecting your privacy. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains how we collect, use, hold and disclose your personal information when you visit pdwines.com.au, purchase from us online or at our cellar door, join our Wine Club, book a tasting, table or accommodation, attend an event, or otherwise deal with us.
What we collect
Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:
- Contact details - your name, address, phone number and email
- Order and delivery information - billing and shipping addresses and your order history
- Date of birth or age confirmation - because it is against the law for us to sell or supply alcohol to a person under 18, we may ask you to confirm your age or date of birth when purchasing
- Wine Club information - your membership details, pack preferences and subscription history
- Booking information - details you provide when booking tastings, dining, accommodation, weddings or events
- Account information - your username, password and account security details
- Payment information - collected and processed by our payment providers; we do not store your full card details
- Marketing and contact preferences - your subscription and opt-out choices, and a record of any request you make not to be contacted
- Usage data - information about how you use our website, collected through cookies and similar technologies, including device, browser and IP address information
- Correspondence - anything you include when you contact us, including notes of telephone calls with us or with a provider calling on our behalf
You can choose not to provide certain information, but this may prevent us from providing some services (for example, we cannot ship alcohol without a delivery address and age confirmation).
How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you - through our website, at the cellar door, over the phone, or when you contact us - and through the platforms that run our services, including our e-commerce platform (Shopify), our Wine Club subscription system, our bookings platform, the customer database and customer relationship management platform we use to manage customer contact, and our payment providers. Where a provider contacts you by telephone on our behalf, we also collect the outcome of that call, including any preference you express.
How we use your information
- Process and deliver your orders, and manage returns and exchanges
- Operate your account and Wine Club membership, including recurring club packs
- Manage bookings for tastings, dining, accommodation, weddings and events
- Verify that you are over 18 where required by law
- Contact you about releases, events and offers, by email, SMS, post or telephone, which you can opt out of at any time
- Respond to your enquiries and provide customer support
- Detect and prevent fraud and misuse of our services
- Comply with our legal obligations, including liquor licensing and tax laws
Who we share it with
We share personal information only as needed to run our business:
- Service providers - our e-commerce platform (Shopify), Wine Club subscription system, bookings platform, payment providers (as displayed at checkout), freight and delivery carriers, email marketing platform, and IT and analytics providers
- Customer contact provider - an Australian business we engage to contact customers by telephone about sales campaigns. We disclose contact and purchase information to them through a customer relationship management platform connected to our database. They may use that information only for the purpose we have engaged them for, are required to handle it in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles, and must return or delete it when our engagement ends.
- Weddings by Enzo - an independent business operating at our venue. If you make a wedding enquiry through our website, we pass your enquiry and contact details to them so they can respond to you directly. They handle that information under their own privacy practices.
- Advertising partners - where we advertise online, platforms such as Google and Meta may collect usage data through cookies and pixels on our site to measure and tailor advertising
- Legal and regulatory - where required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights
We do not sell your personal information.
Some of our service providers (including Shopify) store or process information overseas, including in the United States. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Direct marketing and customer contact
We may contact you by email, SMS, post or telephone with offers, event invitations, new release announcements and Wine Club information. Telephone calls about sales campaigns may be made by a provider acting on our behalf, as described above. Telephone calls are made within the hours permitted under Australian telemarketing rules.
You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails, telling the caller directly, or emailing us using the details below. We keep a suppression list of people who have asked not to be contacted, and we share it with any provider calling on our behalf so that your request is honoured across both. If you ask us to stop contacting you, we will also pass that request on to any provider acting for us.
If you receive marketing from us and did not provide your details to us directly, you can ask us where we obtained them and we will tell you where it is reasonable and practicable to do so.
We may still send you non-promotional messages about your orders, bookings or account.
Cookies
We use cookies to run the website, remember your preferences and cart, understand how the site is used, and support our advertising. For details of the cookies used by our store platform, see Shopify's cookie policy at shopify.com/legal/cookies. You can block or remove cookies through your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work correctly if you do.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No online transmission is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information through insecure channels. We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our services and meet our legal obligations (for example, tax and liquor licensing record-keeping), then take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it. We keep a record of any request not to be contacted for as long as we operate, so that we can continue to honour it.
Access, correction and marketing preferences
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable period. You can update your marketing and contact preferences at any time using the same details.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first and we will do our best to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Children
Our products and services are not directed at people under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page with the "Last updated" date.
